COMBINATIONS FOR TECHNIQUE PRACTICE
The whole course programme is divided into three large blocks:
working out the technique and movements in combinations in across the floor format
integrating and using the worked out technique in mini choreography
The first block is a detailed analysis of the basic elements of Heels - this is the foundation on which the dance is based. Technique is the foundation of the basics: at this stage we will work on the heels; learn to carry the body weight correctly; keep balance, while involving the back, working with the correct posture, arms and hips; work on the serve.
The Heels direction is characterised by a peculiar transfer of the body in heels
When you don't know the technique, but go straight into learning dance combinations, all your attention is focused on standing, grasping the air with your teeth and fingers on the floor, when at this stage the full focus should be shifted to learning dance elements and delivery. That's why at the first stage we learn not just to stand firmly on heels, but to balance, to transfer the body weight, involving the back, so that already at the second stage we can practise this technique in dance combinations in the format "Across the floor", involving the hips and arms, shifting the focus to submission, musicality and dancing.
